Traction control system (TCS)
With the traction control
system (TCS), you get better stability and traction. The traction control
system automatically reduces wheelspin by reducing the engine torque. At speeds
below

You control the traction control system with a key on the traction control panel
The traction control system
(TCS) key.
If the traction control system
was off when the truck was switched off, it will remain off when the truck
starts again. If the traction control system was on with normal function or in
off-road mode, it will be on with normal function when the truck restarts.

function
When the
traction control system is on with normal function, the indicator lamp in the
TCS key is off.
Off-road
mode
To improve traction on difficult surfaces such as on sand, gravel or snow, set the traction control system to off-road mode. In off-road mode, the traction control system is less sensitive and allows a little more wheel slip. Thus, the tyres can better "dig" their way forward without the engine torque being reduced.
Note
Do not use the off-road mode during normal driving.
To set the
traction control system to off-road mode, press the TCS key. The indicator lamp
in the TCS key comes on with a steady light.
To return
to normal function, press the TCS key again.
Switching off
To prevent any engine torque
limitation or wheel slip control by braking, the traction control system can be
switched off.
To switch off the traction control system, press and hold the TCS key. The indicator lamp in the TCS key comes on with a flashing light

To return
to normal function, press the TCS key.
When
testing on a roller bench or when towing with one axle raised, it is not enough
to switch off the traction control system. Instead, it must be disabled.
In the
Vehicle Settings menu, you can disable the traction control system by setting
Roller Bench Mode to on. The truck must be stationary.

When roller bench
mode is on, you cannot control the traction control system with the TCS key on
the traction control panel.
After a wheel change
If you
change wheels on a driven axle and if the new wheels are smaller than the old
ones, it can trigger the traction control system to activate.
To rectify
the problem, the electronic braking system must learn the difference in size
between the wheels. The system automatically does this when you drive the truck
at more than
Until the electronic braking system has learnt, it may be difficult to drive the truck due to the traction control system limiting the engine torque. If so, set the the traction control system to off-road mode. The off-road mode allows a greater difference in wheel speed between the front axle and the driven axle. When the off-road mode is activated, it takes longer for the electronic braking system to learn the difference in size between the wheels.
